Bhubaneswar, Oct 20: Private buses have started plying on the roads as Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association put its statewide strike on hold till October 31, 2023.
The decision communicated by the Secretary of the association on Friday revealed that the private buses will ply till the date.
Acting on the call of the association, private buses in 29 districts were stopped plying on roads from the morning on Friday.
In view of commuters’ inconvenience, Minister of Transport Tukuni Sahu held a discussion with the delegates of the association in the evening. Following the discussion, the association agreed to hold the bus strike on hold till October 31, said sources.
Worth mentioning, the association had called for the strike vehemently opposing the LAccMI scheme of the state government. Through the scheme, the state government will run buses in the rural areas.
