Bhubaneswar, Apr 9: In a tragic incident, a state-level woman athlete was found hanging from the ceiling of her hostel room in Bhubaneswar this morning. The deceased has been identified as Sarojini Sundara, a state-level boxing and Kho Kho player hailing from Jagadalapur under the Delanga police limits in Puri.
As per reports, Sarojini, who was working in a bike showroom in the city, was found hanging in a private hostel near the old office of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). On getting the information, Bargarh Police arrived at the spot and brought the body down. Subsequently, it was sent to Capital Hospital for post-mortem.
Upon being informed, Sarojini’s family members have reached Bhubaneswar and the body will be handed over to them after autopsy, sources said. A probe has been launched into the matter and the deceased’s friends are being questioned in this connection. Her phone call details are being examined to ascertain whether it is a case of murder or suicide, said the police.
