Malkangiri, Sept 10: A state-level malaria team has reached Bondaghati to assess the ongoing measures being taken to combat malaria in the remote and inaccessible region. State Malaria Control and Health Department Deputy Director Subhashish Mohanty and State MSME Officer Alok Pati are visiting villages and reviewing the status of malaria prevention and eradication activities.
The team is inspecting the steps being taken by the Health Department to control malaria in the difficult-to-reach areas. It is also assessing whether awareness campaigns on malaria prevention are being conducted regularly in the villages and whether adequate mosquito nets have been distributed among residents.
During the visit, the team met two malaria patients identified in Dantipada village and reviewed their treatment and health condition.
According to officials, 27 malaria cases were detected in Bondaghati during August. All the identified patients are currently undergoing treatment, while health officials continue to monitor the situation and strengthen malaria prevention measures across the region.
