Bhubaneswar: The semi-finalists spotted in the two-day long 10th All Odisha Inter Districts Sub Junior Boy’s and girls U-15 Rugby 7’s Championship kicks started at Kalinga Stadium here on Saturday. Altogether 10 boys and 6 girl’s teams from across the State are participating in the meet.
In the semifinals the KISS and Keonjhar boys teams will face Jajpur and Mayurbhanj respectively. Similarly in the girl’s semifinals, KISS and Keonjhar will meet Mayurbhanj and Jagatsinghpur respectively.
The Jagatsinghpur, KISS, Keonjhar, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Puri and Baleswar boy’s teams and Jagatsinghpur, KISS, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri and Balasore girl’s teams fight for the top honour.
Odisha Rugby Football Association Secretary Upendra Kumar Mohanty said “due to continuous rains, few districts could not could not take part in the tournament. Our state boys and girls teams will be selected on the basis of their performance for the upcoming All-India Sub Junior Boys and Girls U-15 Rugby 7’s Championship to be held at Gujarat in November 2025”.
