Puri, Jan 17: The Purnahuti of the ongoing Maha Yajna preceding the inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama project in Puri will end today. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is set to inaugurate the project during the auspicious period between 1:15 pm and 1:30 pm.
Gajapati King Dibyasingha Deb will perform the 'Purnahuti' for the three-day Maha Yajna from 1:30 pm to 2 pm, followed by a half-hour 'Nama Sankirtan' after the Yajna's conclusion.
On the second day of the Yajna, rituals such as Panchakarma, Shala Prabesh, and the sprinkling of sacred water on new structures took place. The recital of the four Vedas, similar to the preceding day, was also conducted.
Ranjan Das, Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), along with Collector Samarth Verma and Central Range IG Ashish Singh, oversaw the preparations. Trial runs on Sri Setu and Sri Marga were also carried out.
Pracharak Pandit Biswambar Das elaborated on the rituals, emphasizing that Lord Jagannath ensures timely completion of all tasks, stating, "He is all in all. We are merely chanting His mantras."
Puri Collector Samarth Verma reassured that Sri Marga, Sri Setu, and parking lots are prepared to manage the influx during the inauguration. He expressed gratitude for the widespread participation and assured that efforts are being made to provide the best hospitality.
While devotees and scholars appreciate the renovation of the Srimandir surroundings.
