New Delhi, July 22: Tokyo Olympics Bronze medal winning Indian hockey goalkeeper and former national team captain PR Sreejesh, as expected, has announced that he would retire from international hockey after Paris Games.
The seasoned hockey goalkeeper announced his decision on Monday in a series of posts on X, where he talked about his journey. He has represented India in 328 matches and will play his fourth Olympic Games this year.
Sreejesh thanked his family, teammates, coaches and fans for their constant support throughout his illustrious career.
The Kerala born 36-year-old former India hockey captain, is considered as a wall for the Indian team for over a decade. He has represented India in several major tournaments, including three Olympic Games, and multiple Commonwealth Games and World Cups.
Sreejesh is one of the most popular, humble and very hard working hockey icons of present era. His goalkeeping skills and leadership qualities have been regularly applauded by many hockey legends across the world.
