Sonia, Rahul, Priyanka gather in Raebareli to express gratitude to voters

Lucknow, June 11: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is set to lead an 'Aabhaar Sabha' (thanksgiving meeting) in Raebareli on Tuesday, expressing gratitude to party workers from Raebareli and Amethi constituencies.
Joining Rahul Gandhi will be Congress President Sonia Gandhi, All India Congress Committee General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, and Amethi MP K.L. Sharma, who will address the gathering alongside him.
This meeting marks the Congress's first public gathering in Uttar Pradesh following the announcement of the 2024 Lok Sabha election results. In response to the support received from voters in the recently concluded Parliamentary polls, the party has planned a series of thanksgiving events, including public meetings and yatras, across all 80 Lok Sabha constituencies from June 11 to 15.
In Uttar Pradesh, the INDIA bloc, consisting of Congress and Samajwadi Party alliance candidates, secured victory in 43 of the 80 Lok Sabha seats, with Congress claiming six seats and the Samajwadi Party clinching 37.
Rahul Gandhi emerged victorious in the Raebareli Lok Sabha constituency, defeating Uttar Pradesh Minister and BJP candidate Dinesh Pratap Singh by a significant margin of 3,90,030 votes. Meanwhile, K.L. Sharma reclaimed Amethi from Union Minister Smriti Irani, securing a victory margin of 1,67,196 votes.
Amethi, historically a stronghold of the Nehru-Gandhi family, was lost in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections when Smriti Irani defeated Rahul Gandhi by approximately 55,000 votes.
