Bhubaneswar, Oct 17: The southwest monsoon has completely withdrawn from across the country, marking the official end of the monsoon season. With this, Odisha is unlikely to experience any significant rainfall in the coming days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD has forecast the formation of a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal around October 24. This system is expected to intensify and may develop into a depression. However, the weather office has clarified that the system is unlikely to have any substantial impact on Odisha.

Instead, the likely low-pressure area may bring rainfall to parts of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

In Odisha, dry weather is expected to persist for at least the next two days. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning may occur in isolated places thereafter, but overall, dry conditions will continue to dominate.

Night temperatures across the state are expected to remain stable, with no major fluctuations anticipated over the next six days.
