SOA Literary Festival 2023: 11 Odia litterateurs to be honoured with ‘SOA Sahitya Samman 2023’

Bhubaneswar, Nov 20: A total of 11 Odia veteran litterateurs will be honoured with the ‘SOA Sahitya Samman 2023’ at the second edition of ‘SOA Literary Festival’.

Prominent writers Achyutananda Pati, Satakadi Hota, Santanu Kumar Acharya, Dasarathi Das, Professor and linguist Debi Prasanna Pattanayak, poets Ramakanta Rath, Srinibash Udgata, writer and poet Jagannath Prasad Das, writer and director Ananta Mohapatra, poet and literary critic Sitakant Mahapatra, novelist and columnist Bibhuti Patnaik will be accorded with the ‘SOA Sahitya Samman 2023’. 

This was informed by Dr. Gayatribala Panda, head of SOA Centre for Preservation, Propagation and Restoration of Ancient Culture and Heritage of India (PPRACHIN), and Festival Director and curator of the literary festival.

The ‘SOA Literary Festival’ is being organised by PPRACHIN from November 24 to 26, 2023 and will be held at SOA Campus-2. More than 200 writers, poets, playwrights and critics are expected to attend the event.

The literary festival will be inaugurated on November 24 at 10:30 am by Jnanpith Award winning writer Pratibha Ray. 

The inaugural meeting will be held under the chairmanship of SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda. Central Sahitya Akademi’s President Madhav Kaushik will attend the event as chief guest while Akademi’s Secretary K Srinivasa Rao and actor and storyteller Divya Dutta will be the guests of honour. Social theorist and critic Ashish Nandi will also attend the function.

Vice President of Central Sahitya Akademi Kumud Sharma will preside over the inauguration ceremony on November 26 evening at 5 pm and Saraswati Samman winnng Punjabi writer Surjit Patar will be the chief guest.

Major themes of the symposium include media and literature, cinema and literature, Jagannath cult, Sarala Das Mahabharata, classical orthography, editing techniques, translation art and publishing traditions and ideals.
