Mumbai, July 22: As Indian women's team continue their Asia Cup title defence in Sri Lanka with two wins in two matches so far, back home, off-spinner Sneh Rana was all praise for Head Coach Amol Muzumdar.
Rana stated that Muzumdar's positive impact is doing wonders for the Indian women's team. She stated that the brings a lot of positivity and he is an expert in bringing out the best in every player. He knows every player very well and his role is incredible, Rana added.
Reminding India's success against visiting South African side in the multi-format series, Rana stated her 10 wickets feat in the Chennai Test will always be a great memory for her.
Rana credited Head Coach Muzumdar for India's dominant performance at home in the Test format ever since he took in October 2023.
It can be recalled that under coach Muzumdar, Indian women have won all three Test matches it has played so far – against England at Navi Mumbai, against Australia in Mumbai, and more recently, against South Africa in Chennai.
Speaking about her approach in Test cricket, Rana stated patience is the key in the longest forma of the game.
The reintroduced Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal Multi-Day tournament will help boost India's Test cricket. Besides, from the upcoming domestic season Multi-Day Challenger Trophy will also be played. Asked about her preferred format among the three, Rana stated
Test cricket is the purest form and she waited for many years to play Test cricket. But hopefully, Indian women will play more Tests now, she shared her optimism.
