Bhubaneswar, Feb 10: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a significant salary hike for contractual AYUSH doctors working under the National Health Mission (NHM) in the state.
The decision has been taken in recognition of the important contribution of AYUSH doctors to the state’s healthcare system and with the aim of motivating and encouraging them further.
As per the Chief Minister’s decision, the monthly salary of contractual AYUSH doctors under NHM has been increased based on their length of service. The salary hike ranges from ₹20,000 to ₹40,000 per month depending on seniority.
AYUSH doctors with less than five years of service will receive a monthly salary increase of ₹20,000, raising their minimum salary to ₹56,948. Doctors with five to ten years of service will get a hike of ₹25,000 per month, taking their salary to ₹74,467. Those who have completed ten to fifteen years of service will receive an increase of ₹30,000 per month, bringing their salary to ₹80,467. For doctors with more than fifteen years of service, the monthly salary has been increased by ₹40,000, raising the maximum salary to ₹91,467.
With this revision, the minimum salary of AYUSH doctors has reached ₹56,948, while the maximum salary now stands at ₹91,467.
At present, around 2,912 AYUSH doctors are engaged in the state under the National Health Mission. The state government is expected to incur an additional annual expenditure of approximately ₹1 crore due to this decision.
Expressing optimism, the Chief Minister stated that this initiative would lead to further improvement in AYUSH healthcare services across the state and strengthen the overall public health delivery system.
