Six-yr-old girl mauled to death by stray dogs in Odisha’s Koraput

Koraput, Dec 25: In a tragic incident, a six-year-old girl was mauled to death by stray dogs in Borigumma region of Odisha’s Koraput district on Tuesday.
The deceased girl has been identified as Chandini Harijan and the incident has been reported from Phupgaon village in Borigumma.
As per reports, Chandini was playing with her brother near their house during the daytime when a pack of at least five stray dogs attacked her. Chandini's brother tried to intervene and rescue the young girl from the dogs but wasn’t able to do so. Afterward, he ran to seek help.
Thereafter, the time locals arrived at the scene and chased the dogs away. They found the girl grievously injured and covered in blood following which they immediately rushed her to the Kumuli Medical Center. Unfortunately, the attending doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
A pall of gloom descended on Phupgaon village following the incident.
