Puri, July 14: At a time when every thing essential to open the Ratna Bhandar of Lord Jagannath in Shrimandir Puri, is in place, as many as six temporary sindukas(strongboxes) have been ported into the temple campus on Sunday.
The strongboxes would be utilized for safe storage of the Lord’s gold & silver ornaments with gems and jewels, which will be retrived from the inner treasure trove, under the Jagannath temple.
Sources said, the safe iron-made strongboxes will be placed at the Changada ghar inside the temple wherein the gems and jewels would be sealed with digital locks amid intense cordons of police security.
Worth mentioning, the Ratna Bhandar of Shri Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri is scheduled to be opened at 1.28 PM today, after almost 45 years.
An 11-member team will inspect the status of the Ratna Bhandar and its ancient belongings on the spot entering into the underground cellars. Later, they will be carried to the storngboxes after they are counted and tested by technical experts inside.
