Bhubaneswar, Apr 15: With intense heat wave prevailing across Odisha, as many as six places in the state recorded temperature above 40 degree Celsius today with Bhubaneswar sizzling at 41.9 degree Celsius.
Bhubaneswar was the hottest place in the state as it recorded 41.2 degree Celsius temperature till 1:30 pm. It was followed by Chandbali at 42.6 degree Celsius, Jharsuguda at 41.4 degree Celsius, Balasore at 40.5 degree Celsius.
Similarly, Balasore recorded 40.5 degree Celsius, Sambalpur witnessed 40.3 degree Celsius and Keonjhar recorded 40 degree Celsius.
The Met department further forecasted that maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise by 2-4 degree Celsius over several districts of the state during the next three days.
It added that hot and humid discomfort weather conditions and heat wave are likely to prevail over several districts of Odisha during the next five days.
