Cuttack, Feb 6: Panic struck the Cuttack District Judge Court on Friday when an email threatening a bomb explosion was received, sparking an immediate security response and evacuation of the court premises. The latest bomb threat is part of a disturbing series of similar incidents targeting court complexes across Odisha.

In response to the threat, the entire court campus was evacuated as a precautionary measure. Court proceedings were temporarily halted, and litigants, lawyers, and staff were instructed to vacate the premises to ensure their safety.

Security agencies quickly launched a comprehensive search operation. A bomb disposal squad was called in to conduct a thorough anti-sabotage check, while police personnel cordoned off the area to restrict public movement during the operation. Senior police officials arrived at the scene to oversee the search and assess the credibility of the threat.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the bomb threat was sent via email, and efforts are now underway to trace the source and identify the individuals responsible.

As of now, no suspicious objects have been found, but the search operation will continue until the entire court premises is fully cleared and deemed safe. This follows a similar incident on January 8, when bomb threat emails were sent to district courts in Cuttack, Deogarh, and Sambalpur, prompting security alerts and precautionary measures at those locations as well.
