Balasore, April 15: In a tragic incident, two minor sisters drowned while playing near a pond in Odisha’s Balasore district on Tuesday.
The incident took place at Gandhi Chhak under Basta police limits in the district.
The deceased have been identified as the minor daughters of Sekh Tairuddin and Sekh Najimuddin.
According to the information, the two kids were playing near a pond at the backyard of their house. However, they accidentally fell into the pond and drowned. As the sisters did not return home, their family members launched a frantic search to trace them. The minor sisters were later rescued from the pond and rushed to Basta Medical. However, doctors declared them brought dead.
Being informed Basta police reached the spot and started investigation before sending the bodies for autopsy.
