Baripada, Jan 13: The similipal National Park area woke up to the coldest morning of the winter season as the minimum temperature decreased to 0° C on Friday.
The minimun temperature was recorded 0° degree in Upper Barhakamuda, 3° degree in Chahala, 7° degree in Naana, 8° degree in Berehipani and Gurgudia, informed the deputy director of Shimlipala North Wildlife Divison.
G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district emerged as the coldest spot in Odisha, registering a temperature of 8.4 degrees Celsius. Following closely were Kirei in Sundargarh at 9.2 degrees Celsius and Keonjhar at 9.6 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack experienced a minimum temperature of 15 degrees Celsius, slightly below the usual norm. Additionally, areas across the state reported low visibility due to fog, as indicated by the weather office.
