Mumbai, July 5: Actress Shruti Haasan, renowned for her roles in films such as ‘Gabbar Is Back’, ‘D-Day’, and the upcoming ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’, has commenced shooting for her new project ‘Coolie’, co-starring Tamil superstar Rajinikanth.
Taking to Instagram stories, Shruti shared a photo from the set, captioned "Day 1 #Coolie", updating her fans on the shoot progress. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for ‘Kaithi’ and ‘Master’, the film is a significant collaboration, especially given Lokesh's previous work with Shruti's father, Kamal Haasan.
Reports suggest Rajinikanth will sport a salt-and-pepper look in ‘Coolie’, reminiscent of his appearance in ‘Kaala’. Anirudh Ravichander, known for his work on ‘Petta’ and ‘Darbar’, handles the music and background score, marking his fifth collaboration with Rajinikanth and fourth with Lokesh.
Scheduled for a 2025 release in standard, IMAX, 2D, and 3D formats, ‘Coolie’ will premiere in Tamil with dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada, promising a grand cinematic experience for fans.
