Sundargarh, May 11: In a tragic incident, a truck driver was killed after falling off a bridge near K Balang Police Station area in Koida block of Odisha’s Sundargarh district while reportedly filming a video or reels for social media.
The deceased has been identified as Suresh Kumar, a native of the Chapki Police Station area in Uttar Pradesh.
As per reports, Suresh was reportedly driving an 18-wheeler truck and heading towards Koida from Rourkela on Saturday morning.
He had parked his truck near the 520 National Highway Bridge, which comes under the K Balang Police Station area. While trying to shoot a video, possibly for social media, he climbed onto the bridge railing. Unfortunately, he lost his balance or made a wrong move and fell off the bridge.
The incident came to light later in the afternoon when some local residents spotted a man badly injured under the bridge. Later, they quickly alerted the nearby police station.
Upon getting the information, K Balang police arrived at the scene and identified the victim. The cops then seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Further investigation into the matter was underway to ascertain the exact sequence of events, said the police.
