G. Udaygiri, Dec 25: Christmas celebrations are in full swing across G. Udaygiri, with extensive preparations underway for the joyous occasion. The midnight mass, church visits, prayer services, and community gatherings were the highlights of the festive atmosphere.

Devotees, including people from various fratenity, gathered at local churches to participate in the traditional midnight mass, marking the birth of Lord Jesus Christ. The serene moments of prayer and hymns reverberated throughout the night, as people came together to celebrate the sacred occasion.

The churches were beautifully decorated with lights, candles, bells, and Christmas trees, with many displaying cribs and nativity scenes depicting the birth of Jesus, creating a festive and spiritual ambiance.

In G. Udaygiri, over 55 prayer halls and churches organized various programs to mark Christmas.

To ensure safety during the celebrations, the local police implemented stringent security measures. Entry points were monitored with regular checks on vehicles, and roadblocks were set up as part of a precautionary measure. The authorities also deployed additional security personnel for patrolling. The measures, which are expected to continue till December 26, were confirmed by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Vijay Kumar.

The celebrations also brought people together in joy, with festivities including the sharing of cakes, gift exchanges, and community events. Streets and churches, especially in the western regions of G.Udaygiri, were adorned with vibrant Christmas lights, contributing to the festive spirit that enveloped the town.

Christian community members actively participated in group prayers and various activities, celebrating the occasion with a strong sense of unity and peace. The entire region reflected the true spirit of Christmas, blending religious observance with joyful community celebrations.
