Odisha CM lays foundation for 118 new Model Primary Schools to boost education

Bhubaneswar, Jan 8: In a significant move to improve primary education in Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today laid the foundation stone for 118 Godabarish Mishra Model Primary Schools. The ceremony, held at Banapur, marks the first phase of this ambitious initiative aimed at transforming education across the state.

The state government has earmarked a substantial budget of Rs. 12,000 crore for the project, with each school costing between Rs. 5 crore and Rs. 7 crore to build. These new schools will be constructed on five-acre plots of land located near Panchayat offices, ensuring they are easily accessible to communities in densely populated regions.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister emphasized that the project’s goal is to provide modern infrastructure and enhanced learning facilities for children across Odisha, ensuring that education reaches every corner of the state.

This large-scale initiative is expected to significantly improve the quality of primary education in Odisha and will benefit thousands of students in the coming years.
