Mumbai, Mar 04: Powered by Man-of-the Match Shardul Thakur's all-round performance, Mumbai on Monday completely outplayed Tamil Nadu by an innings and 70 runs to book a berth in the Ranji Trophy Final for the 20234-24 season.
On Day 3 of the second Ranji Trophy semi-final, here visitors Tamil Nadu were bundled out for a paltry 162 in their second innings. Earlier they had managed only 146 in their first innings.
Mumbai on the other hand, had put on a board a competitive 378 runs in their first innings, with Thakur scoring a superb and hurricane 109 in just 105 balls. He smashes 13 boundaries and 4 huge sixes in his devastating knock.
He also claimed two wickets twice in both innings of Tamil Nadu, providing crucial and early breakthroughs for his side.
The other notable contributors for Mumbai were all-rounders Musheer Khan, Tanush Kotian and left-arm spinner Shams Mulani.
Mumbai await the winner of the first semi-final between Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh. The title clash will begin from March 10.
