Sambalpur, July 24: A minor derailment occurred this morning at 09:22 hrs when one trolley of a general coach of Train No. 20831 Mahima Gosain Express derailed shortly after departing Sambalpur City station. The incident took place in the Sambalpur City–Sambalpur section, just minutes after the train left the station at a very slow speed at 09:18 hrs.

There were no casualties or damage to property reported in the incident. According to officials, the rest of the train, excluding the affected coach, has already departed for Sambalpur with all passengers safe and onboard.
Senior railway officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), are present at the site, monitoring restoration efforts and initiating an inquiry into the cause of the derailment. Efforts are underway to restore normal traffic on the affected section at the earliest.
