New Delhi, February 12: Bird-hit incidents at Indian airports increased significantly in 2025, reaching 1,782, up from 1,278 in 2024, according to a report presented in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.

These bird-strikes sometimes lead to considerable damage to aircraft.

To address this, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has established comprehensive regulations and guidelines to manage wildlife hazards at licensed airports.
