Bhubaneswar, Nov 1: District Collectors and Commissioners of Municipal Corporations have been assigned as the Principal Census Officers for the upcoming Census 2027.

The Revenue and Disaster Management Department issued a notification in this connection on Saturday.

As per the notification, all the Collecrtors & DMs and Commissioners of the MCs will oversee the census operations in their jurisdictions.

The appointment is made under Rule 3 of the Census Rules 1990, and the officers will play a crucial role in ensuring utmost accuracy in the census exercise.
