Bhubaneswar, March 7: Senior IPS Officer Lalit Das has been promoted to the Director General of Police (DGP) rank.
Similarly, Senior IPS Officer Sapna Tiwari of the 1992 batch, who is now on Central deputation, has been promoted to the grade of DG of police under sub-rule (5) of rule 8 of IPS (Pay) Rules, 2016, the notification said.
Odisha government issued notification in this connection on Thursday.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration and Public Grievances department this afternoon, 1992 batch IPS officer Lalit Das has been promoted to the grade of DG of Police under sub-rule (2) of rule 3 of the IPS (Pay) Rules, 2016.
Das, who is now serving as the ADG, Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) of Odisha Police, will continue to hold the post till further notice.
Das had earlier worked meticulously in various key positions in the Odisha Police including IGP Central Range &Principal Police Training College, Angul and Director of Intelligence, among other significant assignments.
