Bhubaneswar, Feb 2: The Odisha government has appointed senior advocate Jagannath Rath as State Information Commissioner of the Odisha Information Commission.
A letter regarding his appointment was issued by the Information and Public Relations department on Thursday.
Rath is now working as honorary legal advisor to Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.
Advocate Rath is the youngest son of eminent freedom fighter and senior advocate of Orissa High Court Bipin Behari Rath and the younger brother of Justice (Retd) Biswanath Rath.
Rath has also been practising law for more than two and half decades. Earlier, he was assigned as a legal advisor of Odisha Revenue Board.
