Boudh, Aug 28: A security guard engaged at a railway construction project near Khuntia Pada Railway Bridge in Odisha’s Boudh was thrashed to death allegedly by one of his co-worker last night.
The deceased has been identified as Ranjan Pradhan, a resident of Rautbahal village in the district.
As per reports, a heated exchange of words ensued between the accused, identified as Prakash of Khuntia Pada village, and Ranjan reportedly over the sale of iron scrap from the railway lines.
It later took an ugly turn when Prakash, in fit of rage, thrashed Ranjan leading to his death on the spot.
The accused security guard surrendered before the police after committing the crime. The cops have arrested him and are interrogating to ascertain the exact reason behind the killing.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
