Bhubaneswar, June 11: Ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of Odisha’s new Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s road show in Bhubaneswar scheduled on June 12, security has been beefed up in the capital city to ensure smooth conduct of the programs.
As per reports, Commissionerate Police has decided to mobilize a total of 59 platoons of security forces including one IG, three DIGs, 13 SP and DCP rank officers, 18 Additional SPs, 58 DSPs, 94 Inspectors and 312 SIs and ASIs, 28 Commandants will be in charge of security to maintain law and order situation.
The ceremony will be held at the Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar.
PM Modi is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar at 2:10 PM tomorrow. Thereafter, he will go to Raj Bhavan and stay there for 2 hours. Later, he will leave Raj Bhavan at 4:30 PM and hold a road show in the city before proceeding to Janata Maidan to attend the ceremony.
Security has been tightened while the entire Janata Maidan is under CCTV surveillance.
Blueprints have been prepared to address traffic problems as around 35,000 people are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Special parking arrangements have been made for the event. The fire department has been put on alert to deal with any emergency situation while another special team has been formed for traffic management.
Similarly, night patrolling and checking and blocking have been tightened in the capital to tackle any kind of untoward situation.
