Bhubaneswar, Sept 30: Senior IPS officer Suresh Devadatta Singh became the Commissioner of Police (CP) of Twin cities Bhubaneswar-Cuttack.
Singh took over his charge as the CP on Monday from the outgoing incumbent Sanjeev Panda. Singh was previously serving as the Additional Director General (ADG) of Police, CID and Crime Branch in Cuttack.
Suresh Devdatta Singh, a 1998-batch IPS officer, was transferred as CP on Sunday vide a notification issued by the Odisha Home Department.
A guard of honor was given to the new CP at the headquarters of Commissionerate of Police in Bhubaneswar.
After taking charge as the new CP, Singh said that the police will be sensitive towards the people coming to the police stations for legal assistance.Justice will be given to general public as much as possible within the purview the law. However he said that, the police will take tough action and indomitable approach in dealing with antisocials and criminals.
