Science teacher suspended after misconduct allegations in Kendrapara’s Rajnagar Block

Kendrapara, July 28: Amar Prasad Mallick, a science teacher at Government Naga Narayan Higher Secondary School in Dangamal, Rajnagar block, has been suspended following serious allegations of inappropriate behavior toward multiple girl students from Class 7 and Class 9.

According to reports, several concerned parents lodged formal complaints with the school’s headmaster, Manas Ranjan Mishra, alleging misconduct by Mallick. Acting promptly, the headmaster filed a complaint at the Talchua Marine Police Station.

Following the complaint, police registered a case under Sections 126(2), 115(2), 74, and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Section 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Mallick was taken into custody for questioning.

A medical examination was conducted at Rajnagar Community Health Centre before the accused was produced in the Kendrapara POCSO Court. He was subsequently remanded to judicial custody, informed IIC Bimal Kumar Mallick.

District Education Officer Pavitra Mohan Barik confirmed that Amar Prasad Mallick has been placed under suspension pending further investigation.

The case has sparked outrage in the local community, with parents and residents demanding strict action and enhanced safety measures in schools.
