Cuttack, Jan 23: The 129th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is being observed today as Parakram Diwas across Odisha. To mark the occasion, Netaji’s birthplace museum and the Netaji Memorial at Odia Bazaar in Cuttack have been specially decorated.

Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan is scheduled to attend the commemorative events at Netaji’s ancestral residence. After arriving in Bhubaneswar at 8:50 a.m., he will travel to Cuttack and visit Janakinath Bhavan, where he will offer floral tributes at the statue of Netaji Subhas Bose and tour various exhibitions.

On the occasion, the Vice President will inaugurate two key projects. A Postal Museum will be inaugurated at Netaji’s birthplace with the joint initiative of the State Culture Department and the Postal Department. He will also dedicate the Netaji District Culture Bhavan, aimed at promoting the cultural heritage of Cuttack.

In view of the Vice President’s visit, public entry to Netaji’s birthplace and museum will remain restricted from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., while the Netaji Memorial will remain closed to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Due to the VVIP visit, traffic restrictions have been imposed from Bhubaneswar to Cuttack, with additional curbs in several parts of Cuttack city. Thirty platoons of police force have been deployed to ensure tight security.
