Bhubaneswar, July 11:A 57-year-old high school teacher was arrested on Saturday in Odisha's Ganjam district for allegedly sexually abusing his 22-year-old daughter over several years, police said.

Local police alleged that the abuse continued even after the woman got married.

According to police, the woman allegedly set herself on fire at her in-laws' residence on Thursday, sustaining around 75% burn injuries. She was initially admitted to a local medical facility before being shifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar after her condition deteriorated.

The accused has been taken into custody, and an investigation into the case is underway.
