Anandapur, Dec 20: The Anandapur Wildlife Forest Division organized a workshop to enhance the skills of forest staffs in snake handling.The event, held at the departmental conference hall under the supervision of Anandapur DFO Prashant Kumar Panda, aimed to educate staff on safely capturing and releasing snakes back into the wild.

Shubhendu Mallik, a member of the Snake Helpline, led the training session, focusing on how to handle snakes safely and the appropriate methods for releasing them into secure forest areas. He also emphasized the importance of using safety equipment during these operations.

The workshop saw participation from forest workers across various ranges, including Anandapur, Hadagada, Brahmanipal, and Deogaon. They were trained on using proper tools for snake handling, ensuring the safety of both the animals and the personnel involved.

This initiative is expected to improve the forest staff’s ability to manage snake-related incidents in the region and contribute to the preservation of local wildlife.
