Bargarh, Oct 30: In a tragic incident, a Bargarh-based farmer in Odisha on Thursday was killed in electrocution while applying pesticides on his crop.

The incident took place at Bukuramunda village under the Paikmal block in Bargarh, descending a shock wave in the vicinity.

The deceased has been identified as Ravi Sahu(37).

According to reports, Sahu was spraying pesticides on his standing crops. Meanwhile, he came in contact with a live electric wire, that had fallen in the field due to high wind.

Responding to his alarm, local rushed to the spot to rescue him but in vain. He was later carried to the hospital for treatment where he was declared dead.
