Samarendra Baliarsingh’s anthology of stories ‘Mate Nayika Karinia’ unwrapped among litterateurs

Bhubaneswar, July 26: Avid writer and senior Journalist Samarendra Baliarsingh’s story book ‘Mate Nayika Karinia’ was unwrapped on Sunday among litterateurs.

Kendra Sahitya Akademi awardee Subhas Satpathy as Chief Guest, wrapped off the anthology of stories in a miniature occasion organized by the Trinatha Charan Smruti Kala Sahitya Sansad at the Shyama-Madhaba Library in Khordha.

While gracing the occasion, Satpathy lauded the sincere effort of story teller Samarendra Baliarsingh, as a school of thoughts to assimilate contemporary social studies and to configure them to shape them as meaningful stories.

AR Dipankar Das, Writer and Senior Journalist of News7, who joined as Chief Speaker, emphasized the commercial potential of the story collection, for its lively transition in joining the youth and literature across generations.

Sunil Bose, one of the familiar Story Tellers who also joined as a Honourbale Guest, reviewed and analysed the intrinsic ideas and comprehensive message of the new creation. He admired the creation of short stories of the book, which showcases love, betrayl, extra marital affairs, child psychology, political affairs and social aspects of our society. 

Similarly, Educationist & social activist Rajkishor Panigrahi underlined the social and moral values of the book whereas raised a pinching criticism to the handful writers who diverge the society towards uncertain crosswords. He praised Samarendra Baliarsingh as one of the powerful story tellers of the present days.  

While expressing his intuition behind conceptualizing the title and the inner poems, storyteller Baliarsingh said that his father who is a renowned historian to account the significant timeline of ancient Odisha, is the real ‘God overhead & heart within’, for him to think of his new creativity. Mr. Baliarsingh expressed his gratitude to his readers and Odias out of the state and country for their passionate love for his stories over the years. He dedicated his new story book ‘Mate Nayika Karinia’ to the characters of the stories. He told that blend of imagination and truth was reflected in his stories with a touch of modernity. 

Poet Dr Sasmita Patnaik reviewed the prominent stories of the book and opined that creative thinking of the writer is superb and powerful. Youths and Social media users will surely get a pleasure by reading this book.  

Writer Kailash Chandra Moharana co-ordinated the literary session and briefed the sketches of all the 40 stories placed in the book of 112pages. Founder-Secretary of Trinatha Charan Smruti Kala Sahitya Sansad, Itishree Sahu proposed the vote of thanks at the end.

Among others, scores of litterateurs including eminent Historian Satyabadi Baliarsingh, Prof Gopalkrishna Das, Story teller Tapan Patnaik, Dr Pramod Chandra Dash, Umashankar Prasad, Chinmaya Sahu, Asish Roy, Krushna Chandra Harichandan shed lights on the poems.

Worth mentioning, the ‘Mate Nayika Karinia’, was published by the Pearl Books.
