Pradhan, MLA from G Udayagiri constituency, had filed the nomination for the post yesterday after the ruling party nominated him as its candidate for the Deputy Speaker election. Notably, Rajani Kant Singh resigned as Deputy Speaker earlier this month to devote more time to the organizational work of Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
