Lucknow, UP, January 20: In a historic move towards inclusivity, four transgender individuals from Uttar Pradesh have been invited to attend the Republic Day parade in New Delhi as special guests. This marks an important step in recognizing and empowering the transgender community.

The individuals, all associated with the Garima Grih shelter home in Gorakhpur, will travel to the national capital on January 24, following the official protocols, as confirmed by District Magistrate Deepak Meena.

Expressing her pride, Ekta Maheshwari, the founder of Garima Grih, shared, "I received the news through an official email. This is a proud moment for us." Maheshwari, who has also been invited, will accompany the guests to the prestigious event.
