Cuttack, Dec 10: While Covid 19 Pandemic has left a scar mark across the world due to its uncountable tolls, lakhs of kids were deserted as their parents died of the Corona virus.

Odisha’s Swapnansh Mohapatra is one of the boys who withstood the profound shock with indomitable mental strength to clinch NEET and join the MBBS course.

Swapnansh resolved to serve the mankind with utmost care who was nourished & educated with the ‘Ashirvad Scheme’, a flagship program run by the government to rehabilitate the orphaned children.

Swpnansh who hails from the Talatelanga Bazaar in Cuttack City had lost his father at 13, who succumbed to Covid 19.

The Odisha government under the aegis of the ‘Ashirvad Sceme’ adopted him and assisted in his study. Standing firm in his mission, Swapnansh became an NEET achiever surmounting the incalculable mental trauma and other physical obstacles, he had to face after his parent’s untimely demise. Without losing his spirits, he became an example for the distressed ones, to be one among the genius Medical students.

Meritorious Swapnansh is now pursuing his MBBS degree at Government Medical College Phulbani, after he outshined as an example among the students, fighting the odds.

While, well wishes and greets poured in from Swapnansh’s near & dear ones, Odisha Law Minister Prithwiraj Harichandan has wished all success to the ‘would be doctor’, for his imperviousness despite a traumatic past.

Attributing his success to his mother and the Odisha government, Swapnansh said, “I had lost all hopes after death of my father during the pandemic. Mother’s blessings and intervention of the ‘Ashirvad Scheme’ crafted me out to be a doctor.”

“I would selflessly serve people at distress as my society and the welfare state immensely supported me while my family was almost deserted”, he added.

Lauding the boy’s resolve, Harichandan said on X, “The scheme implemented for the care of children who have lost their parents due to the corona pandemic and other reasons, under the "Ashirbad Yojana," has helped Swapnansh Mahapatra of Telenga Bazar, Cuttack, realize his dream of becoming a doctor. After losing his father during the COVID period, Swapnansh succeeded in the NEET exam and has now taken admission in the government medical college located in Phulbani. He lost his father, which was true, but his mother's firm determination and financial assistance through the "Ashirbad Yojana" did not let Swapnansh deviate from his goal path. Swapnansh Mahapatra stands as a great example of how government assistance given at the right time to the right person can fulfill big dreams. May Swapnansh's future be bright and may he dedicate himself to patient service—this is a prayer at the feet of the Almighty.
