Bhubaneswar, May 14: Amid rumours of a possible fuel shortage in Bhubaneswar, Sanjay Lath on Wednesday assured the public that there is no crisis-like situation and that petrol and diesel supplies across the city remain adequate.
Speaking on the issue, the Odisha Petrol Pump Association president said all major fuel stations in Bhubaneswar currently have sufficient stock of petrol and diesel. He further informed that smaller petrol pumps have also procured fuel in advance from oil companies, ensuring uninterrupted supply to consumers from Thursday onward.
Lath clarified that a few smaller fuel stations had earlier faced temporary difficulties in purchasing fuel due to financial constraints and limited storage capacity. However, he said those issues have now been resolved and fresh fuel consignments are expected to reach pumps during the night.
Dismissing panic over fuel availability, he urged citizens not to rush to petrol pumps or fall prey to rumours circulating on social media and other platforms.
He also acknowledged that a few petrol pumps, including some in the Kalpana area, had witnessed temporary supply delays. However, the situation has since normalised and fuel is now available across all outlets in the city.
The association president further stated that there are no restrictions on fuel purchase and customers are free to fill their vehicle tanks completely. “There is no rationing or limit system in place,” he said.
