Kendujhar, Mar 11: In a strict administrative action, the District Collector of Kendujhar District, Vishal Singh, has suspended three employees of Ghatgaon Tahasil for allegedly coming to the office under the influence of alcohol.

The suspended employees have been identified as Revenue Inspector Lasib Singh Laguri, Amin Lochan Kumar Samal, and Head Clerk Jyotirmaya Sahu.

According to reports, the employees had repeatedly been arriving at the office during working hours after consuming alcohol and creating disturbances. The Tahasildar of Ghatgaon had earlier lodged a complaint with the local police regarding the matter.

The issue resurfaced recently during the visit of Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari to Ghatgaon, when local residents complained that some staff members were attending office after drinking alcohol. Taking the matter seriously, the minister directed the Tahasildar to verify the allegations and initiate immediate action.

Following the inquiry, the District Collector ordered the suspension of the three employees.
