Cuttack, Oct 24: In a historic move, Indonesia has been named the partner nation for this year’s Cuttack Baliyatra, marking the first time the district administration has introduced such a collaboration in the festival’s organization.

Announcing the development, the Cuttack District Collector said the decision was made in recognition of the centuries-old maritime trade relations between Odisha and Indonesia. “Given the strong historical and cultural ties between the two regions, Indonesia has been selected as the first partner nation for Bali Jatra,” the Collector stated.

As the partner nation, Indonesia will play a major role in the festival’s events and exhibitions. Discussions between the district administration and Indonesian representatives are underway to showcase the ancient trade connections between the two regions. For the first time, a special stall featuring Indonesian handicrafts will be set up at the fair.

The 2025 Baliyatra will also introduce several new attractions, including a 3D gallery, an experience zone, and a vintage car exhibition. Adding to the festive spirit, renowned Bollywood singers Shreya Ghoshal and Harshdeep Kaur are set to perform live during the celebrations, the Collector confirmed.

Baliyatra, one of Odisha’s grandest cultural and trade fairs, commemorates the state’s historic maritime legacy and continues to strengthen global cultural connections.
