Rourkela: Jaya Gupta (Sahu), a daughter of Chhattisgarh and daughter-in-law of Rourkela, has brought laurels to the Steel City by winning the Mrs India International title at a beauty pageant held in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Jaya emerged among the top five contestants after competing against 20 finalists in various rounds. She eventually clinched the title through her knowledge, confidence, dancing skills, and fitness.

Drawn to the glamour world since childhood, Jaya completed her college education in Sambalpur before marrying Rourkela-based businessman Manish Kumar Sahu. She now leads a happy family life with her husband and two children.

Encouraged by a close friend, Jaya decided to participate in the Venus Miss and Mrs India International contest for the first time. Following her selection in the preliminary round, she travelled to Rajasthan in September to compete in the event.

Her achievement has sparked celebrations in Rourkela, with friends, relatives and socio-cultural organisations congratulating her on the accomplishment.

Jaya has also been invited to serve as a judge at the Venus Miss and Mrs India International 2027 pageant, scheduled to be held in Agra, she said.

Speaking about her journey, Jaya said she remains focused on maintaining her fitness through daily workouts and a balanced diet. She is also keen to expand her knowledge of the glamour industry and keep herself updated on the latest events and developments.
