Punjab, May 13: The Bhatinda Police in Punjab has arrested a Roorkee man for allegedly spying for Pakistan.
The accused has been identified as Pradeep, said police.
After getting some suspected contents from his cellphone, he was detained and later sent for judicial custody, said the Bhatinda City SP, Narinder Singh.
On the arrest, Singh said, “We received information about an individual named Pradeep, a resident of Roorkee, Uttarakhand. We began tracking his movements and observed some suspicious activities. After checking his mobile phone, we found questionable content. The device has now been sent for forensic analysis, and we are awaiting further updates.”
