Bhubaneswar, Oct 17: A gang of robbers have swept away cash, jewellery and other valuable from a number of flats at an apartment under the Infocity Police limits in Bhubaneswar.
It came to light on Tuesday after a number of tenants of the Rajvtaika Apartment, lodged a number of complaints regarding robbing from their residences.
As per initial reports, thefts have been reported from at least four flats at Rajvatika Apartment in the city. Despite the presence of a security guard, the robbers managed to enter the apartment and decamp with gold ornaments, cash, and other valuables worth over 1 crore from the flats despite bright lighting and CCTV, fitted at every corridor.
“ We have lost almost everything. We had kept the gold ornaments for our daughter’s marriage. The miscreants have also looted ornaments of deities from our puja room as well,” has cited a victim in the complaint.
Acting on the complaints, senior police officials reached the apartment and initiated a probe with the help of forensic experts. Meanwhile, the CCTV footages were verified wherein the whole modus operandi of the gang were found recorded.
Four different cases have been registered. Manhunts are underway in suspected places to reach the looters, based on the CCTV footage, said an investigation officer.
