Gandhinagar, Dec 5: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to begin a three-day visit to Gujarat today, with a packed schedule of 25 public events aimed at promoting cooperative sector reforms, urban development, and public welfare initiatives across the state.

Shah’s visit, scheduled until December 7, will take him across key regions including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Sanadar (Diyodar), Vav-Tharad, and other adjoining areas. His tour will focus on a wide array of projects related to infrastructure, cultural outreach, and the enhancement of public amenities.

Key highlights of Shah's visit:

Inauguration of ‘Swadeshotsav’ at GMDC Ground, Memnagar: The event, organized by the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, will mark the beginning of Shah’s tour.

NABARD’s Earth Summit 2025:Shah will attend the valedictory session of this summit at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar.

Civic Inaugurations:On day one, Shah will inaugurate various public amenities, including:

New public gardens

Yoga studio

Refurbished primary school building

LC-11 railway overbridge

Under-bridge sports complex

Primary health centre

PNG gas pipeline connections in three villages

Shah will end the day with the closing ceremony of the Sansad Sports Festival and the opening of the Ahmedabad Shopping Festival.

December 6-Focus on Dairy, Cooperation, and Rural Development:

Banas Dairy in Sanadar (Diyodar):Shah will visit the dairy to lay foundation stones and inaugurate several new projects.

Ministry of Cooperation’s Advisory Committee:Shah will preside over a crucial meeting, emphasizing the government's ongoing efforts to strengthen and expand cooperative institutions in India.

December 7- Housing and Infrastructure:

Housing Projects:On the final day, Shah will inaugurate the 861 EWS homes under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Thaltej and 350 homes under the Slum Rehabilitation Scheme in Nava Vadaj.

Public Infrastructure Initiatives:

PPP-developed Oxygen Park

Rejuvenation of lakes at Shakri and Vastrapur

Mini sports complex and community facilities

Various public amenities to improve urban infrastructure.

Book Launch:Shah will release the Gujarati edition of the book “Challenges Inspire Me”, written by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel.

Pramukh Varni Amrit Mahotsav:The visit will culminate at the Sabarmati Riverfront, where Shah will attend a cultural event hosted by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha.
