Gulraj Singh, originally from Thane in Maharashtra, embarked on his musical journey from a young age, exploring Hindustani Classical music, Western Classical, and jazz under the guidance of various mentors.
Gulraj delves into the Hindustani classicai music with the Harmonium under the guidance of Smt. Joshi ji and Pandit Pradeep Chitnis ji. He also explored Western Classical and Jazz music, receiving mentorship from George Almeida and Manikandan Pillai, achieved the 'Grade 8 Examination' in Digital Keyboards from Trinity College of Music, London, marking a significant milestone in his musical journey. As an independent Music Composer and Producer, he has made notable contributions to the Hindi film industry. His work includes acclaimed compositions such as the songs 'Pakeezah' and 'Adarniya Ungli' from the film 'Ungli,' as well as the title track of 'Fukrey 2.'
Gulraj's recent work in the Marathi film 'Unaad' has received global acclaim for which he was awarded with Filmfare Award, and he continues to make waves in the industry, including his composition for the film 'KAKUDA,' starring Ritesh Deshmukh and Sonakshi Sinha. Both these films were directed by the "Munjya" fame director Aditya Sarpotdar. Gulraj has also recreated a couple of songs in the popular Netflix film Amar Singh Chamkila which were originally composed by Chamkila himself.
Apart from film music, Gulraj has also composed critically acclaimed non-film projects such as the whole volume of Ganraj Adhiraj with Universal Music. He has recently worked with Singer Javed Ali and lyricist Manoj Yadav on a song called "Jaanabe Jaaniya" which was a hit among the youngsters.
Gulraj's talent has earned him accolades such as the GIMA (Global Indian Music Award) and the Mirchi Music Award. He has also composed music for ad campaigns for brands like Myntra, Fanta Apple, Dream 11,Google Pay, and Oyo.
Additionally, he has collaborated with music legends like A R Rahman, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and Salim-Sulaiman. His diverse portfolio extends to scoring for films such as 'Paani' and 'Sardar Ka Grandson.' He was featured on the musical TV show 'Jammin' and performed on 'Coke Studio @MTV Season 2.'
Regarding pipelined projects, Gulraj has a keen interest in collaborating with various musicians in the nonfilm space and many special film projects are yet to be announced.
