Bhubaneswar, Jan 30: Odisha is set to experience colder-than-normal weather conditions over the next two weeks, with a cold wave likely to continue across the state, according to the Meteorological Department.

From Friday until February 5, minimum temperatures in the interior districts of Odisha are expected to range between 10°C and 14°C, while coastal areas and nearby districts may record temperatures between 14°C and 18°C.

A further dip in temperatures is forecast between February 6 and 12, when interior regions of western Odisha could see minimum temperatures falling to 6°C–10°C. During this period, the interior parts of the state and southern coastal Odisha are likely to record temperatures between 10°C and 14°C, while northern coastal districts may experience minimum temperatures of 14°C–16°C.

Overall, minimum temperatures across Odisha are expected to remain below normal. The Meteorological Department has also predicted that eastern India will witness temperatures 2°C to 4°C lower than normal over the next two weeks.

Meanwhile, a yellow warning for dense fog has been issued for Jagatsinghpur, Puri, and Kendrapada districts on Friday. Foggy conditions are also likely at one or two locations in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, and Khordha districts.
