Bhubaneswar, April 13: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stirred up political escalation within the party with its announcement of Dusmant Kumar Swain as the candidate for the Khandpada assembly segment in Nayagarh district. This decision has not been well-received by his opponent within the party, Archana Dash, and her supporters.
Archana Dash and her followers asserted that Dusmant Swain’s recent affiliation with the BJP does not warrant his candidature. According to them, Dusmant has not significantly contributed to the party or the local community. Despite these reservations, the BJP leadership has placed its trust in him and granted him the party ticket to contest the election from Khandpada.
In contrast, Archana Dash claims a long-standing association with the party, spanning seven years, during which she has diligently worked to strengthen its presence in the area.
Recently, under Archana Dash’s leadership, a party meeting was convened at Umadevi ground in Khandapara. During this gathering, party secretary Rabindra Patnaik, Bhapur Mandal President Kartik Nayak, and several frontal head from the region expressed strong opposition to Dusmant Swain’s candidature.
They have urged the party high command to reconsider and allocate a ticket to Archana Dash.
The fued between these two party members underscores the internal dynamics and tensions within the BJP as it prepares for the upcoming elections.
