Kandhamal, May 23: Repolling is currently underway at two polling booths in Kandhamal district, with stringent security measures in place, on Thursday.
Voting commenced at 7 am at booths number 26 and 28 of the Kantamal assembly seat, which falls under the Kandhamal parliamentary constituency, and will continue until 4 pm.
In addition to police personnel, two magistrates have been deployed to ensure the integrity and fairness of the electoral process.
The decision for repolling was made by the Election Commission of India (ECI) after receiving allegations of booth rigging in the Kantamal constituency during the second phase of elections held on May 20.
These two booths were part of the Kantamal assembly seat where polling took place alongside 34 other assembly segments and five Lok Sabha seats on May 20.
